This Igbo Language is primarily spoken by the Igbo people of South-East Nigeria. It is one of the "top five most spoken languages" on the African continent. Igbo is rich, diverse, and in some regard, mathematic in the way it has responded to time and the advance of technology. It falls under the Volta-Niger branch of the Niger-Congo family of languages.

Igbo is one of the four official languages spoken in Nigeria. It is spoken by over 20 million people, with many speakers in the diaspora. The Language has more than 20 dialects, with Central Igbo being the most prevalent. The Language was introduced to the global audience by the literary work of author & Noble Laureate Chinua Achebe, whose famous book "Things Fall Apart" introduced the Igbo language & culture to millions of readers

The Native Tongue - Igbo Series was made to help facilitate the Igbo language learning process. Leaners can either use the workbook independently or work with Native Tongue Language guides via one-on-one tutoring sessions.

The Native Tongue – Igbo Series begins with the "Igbo Foundations Workbook" or "Mmalite Ọmụmụ Igbo", which provides 30 lessons that ground the Learner in the basics. The series continues into the "Igbo Immersion Sessions" or "Ọmụmụ Igbo Miri Emi" , a collection of 30 different conversations that take the Learner into the depths of the Igbo Language.
